Now that I feel like I got this WordPress thing going, let’s try it out. The two people you see across this website. Who are they? Well, I am still trying to flesh that out, but they are twin brother and sister. As I was listening to the theme to The NeverEnding Story, I decided to see what they might look like riding a magic horsey. As my drawing skills are garbage, I decided to let Microsoft Copilot give me a solution. I found two that I like.

So what went through my mind was that we have two very average siblings (realistic fiction) that suddenly get sucked into a magical world. Ever seen Adventures in Wonderland or The Labyrinth? Similar idea: they are living a normal life when something fantastical happens to them, and they find themselves in some sort of magical land where they are tasked with protecting it from outside forces (I just recently got my hands on the complete 1980s Rainbow Brite series (hey could someone please explain why the theme song was cut from the DVD?) including the movie (Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer) – I do not recognize the 2014 version, this is my childhood we’re talking about. Yes, I watched the cartoons aimed at girls because I grew up with girl cousins at their house and guess what? They got to pick what we watched. Anyhow, I was on a tangent, wasn’t I?
Anyhow, what’s this about?
The idea going through my head is that our two heroes, twin brother and sister named Luke and Amanda, thinking about their childhood when suddenly they are sucked into that world and have to defend it. What are their names? Luke and Amanda. What is the name of this world? I haven’t thought of it yet. I’m just trying to put idea to keyboard. Ideas will come, I’m sure. I’m also open to suggestions.
Before they got swept into this magical world, they were your average set of siblings living an ordinary life. They just graduated high school and were spending their last summer before heading off to college when suddenly they get sucked down a vortex of some kind into a world full of whimsical fantasy.
When they arrive they realize they arrived in the world of her favorite childhood cartoon, and it is up to them to protect it.
The world is welcoming, inviting as they explore around it. Can they discover its secrets? Will they learn what their mission is?
