Creating Phrases

Print Friendly

Phrase Packs are small files with the extension .rpt (Raggiesoft Phrase Text) and are single line text files.

These files can be created using any plain text editor such as GEdit, Kate, or Notepad.

How to create new phrases:

simply save the file of your choice with the extension rpt and place it in the Phrase Library folder inside of your Guess The Phrase settings folder

  • Windows: C:\Users\[username]\.Guess The Phrase\Phrase Library
    • On Windows XP, this would be C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\.Guess The Phrase\Phrase Library
  • Linux: /[username]/.Guess The Phrase/Phrase Library
  • Mac OS X: /Users/[username]/.Guess The Phrase/Phrase Library

As demonstrated with the House Pets and Sea Life phrase packs, subfolders within the Phrase Library are permitted.  The version.id file inside both is simply for the Phrase Pack installer to determine what release of the Phrases are installed, in case updates are released.
