Thanksgiving Break

Steffie’s  Thanksgiving Break has begun. She takes a bus to Spencer’s  college, and is met with a shock. She sees Kimmie walk up to Spencer,  then hugs him. Steffie shouts, “What the hell is going on!”

Kimmie breaks out of the hug and asks, “Steffie, what are you doing here?”Steffie answers, “I’m here because I had planned to have lunch with     Spencer.”

Spencer has completely forgotten about that. He says    nervously,  “We… were?” Then he hits himself on the forehead  and groans, “How  could I have forgotten?”

Kimmie speaks up, “He   honestly…  did?”

Steffie is still taken aback, “But… why?”

Spencer, now a little more confident, speaks up, “I really am   happy to see you, don’t get me wrong.”

Steffie nods her head, then     looks at Kimmie, asking, “Is this some  kind of elaborate joke?”        Spencer and Kimmie look at each other,  confused as to why Steffie is   asking such a question. Steffie asks,  “Kimmie, don’t you remember      what Spencer did to you?”

Kimmie says, “I don’t. I honestly don’t.”

Spencer echoes, “I don’t remember either.” Steffie  retells the whole  thing: the cyber-stalking, the middle-school tour,   and  everything  else. Spencer says, “Let’s just leave that behind.”

Then Steffie adds, “And last time I checked, there a restraining order in effect.”

Kimmie comes up with an idea, “Well, leaving the past behind is a  good idea. We may not be able change the past. But we can change the  future.”

Kimmie goes to a judge.  She requests that the restraining order be lifted. The judge grants the request.
